10/22/2006 ~ The Times Have Always Been Unsettled

There is not much hope in the governments of this world.
We need to put our hope in God’s Kingdom.

"... the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! ..."
~ Matthew 23:37-39

Jerusalem
Because you are spiritually empty, destruction will pass your way.

"... I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another,
that shall not be thrown down." ~ Matthew 24:1-2

"... when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming,
and of the end of the age?" ~ Matthew 24:3

This great city, the temple?
1. When will these things be?
2. What will be the sign?
3. The end of the age?

"... will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous
into eternal life." ~ Matthew 25:45-46

~ No matter the era, All people will be judged so be ready.

"... All these are the beginning of sorrows." ~ Matthew 24:4-8

There will always be wars
so don’t let this sway you as to when the end times are to be.

Only a fool would try to guess the will of God.
Know His will by steadfastness which bestows Grace.
Be ready for the judgment of the Lord if today is your last.

... will betray one another, and will hate one another. ... ~ Matthew 24:9-13

There will be persecutions and hate; and so it has been and is.

"And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a
witness to all the nations, and then the end will come." ~ Matthew 24:14

No matter what is happening, stand with the Lord in your deepest hollow.

... when you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel ...
~ Matthew 24:15

┌─> God’s own people through their blindness.
... the people of the prince who is to come Shall destroy the city
and the sanctuary. ... ~ Daniel 9:24-27

Jerusalem is gone and the Messiah remains.

"... And pray that your flight may not be in winter ..." ~ Matthew 24:16-20

Plan your escape and lighten your burdens.
Be ready to leave; for emancipation to judgment.
Don’t be too late to recognize the Lord.

"... great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world
until this time, no, nor ever shall be." ~ Matthew 24:21

Josephus tells us that ...
Between 1.3 and 1.6 million Jews were killed in 70 A.D.
Blood flowed as rivers in the streets.

       ┌─>
The slaughter only lasted a few days.
"And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; ..."
~ Matthew 24:22

┌─> The carcass is the spiritually empty Jews.
"... See, I have told you beforehand. ..." ~ Matthew 24:23-28
└─> The eagles or vultures were the Romans.

If someone tells you this is how it will occur, don’t believe it.

"Immediately after the tribulation of those days
the sun will be darkened, ..." ~ Matthew 24:29

A major life altering change is obvious for all.

"Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then
all the tribes of the earth will mourn, ..." ~ Matthew 24:30

People know when judgment comes.

... and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, ...
~ Matthew 24:31

The saved shall always stand with God.

"... the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts
forth leaves, you know that summer is near. ..." ~ Matthew 24:32-33

Jesus was saying not to stay in the city
if one felt the temple ready to explode.

       ┌─>
It was contemporary to the people of the 1st century, 40 years later.
"... this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place."
~ Matthew 24:34

"Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away."
~ Matthew 24:35

Jesus' words are forever.

But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven,
but My Father only." ~ Matthew 24:36

Be ready because it could be today.

"Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which
the Son of Man is coming." ~ Matthew 25:13

"But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming
of the Son of Man be. ..." ~ Matthew 24:37-39

It will be abrupt.

"... one will be taken and the other left. ..." ~ Matthew 24:40-41

This plainly states that people will be separated.
This scripture has been used to support man’s rapture fabrication.
It is simpler than this; it means more about judgment to come.
Context!

"... you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour
you do not expect." ~ Matthew 24:42-44

No one will be able to plan it.

... will come on a day when he is not looking for him and at an hour that
he is not aware of, ... ~ Matthew 24:45-51

There are no masks with the Lord.
Do you hide from the Lord or does His light shine through you?

"But he who endures to the end shall be saved." ~ Matthew 24:13

God is allowing evil to continue hoping lost souls will turn to Him.

What solves things is to turn to Christ.
Certainly we need institutions such as the police and the military,
But only true peace is found knowing eternal life starts now.

Stand with God.
