If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, ...
~ 1st Timothy 6:3-5

If we are not applying these things we are wasting our time.

... some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, ...
~ 1st Timothy 6:6-10

Flee from false teachers and material greed.

"When they persecute you in this city, flee to another. ..." ~ Matthew 10:23

Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, ...
~ Philippians 3:12

I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call
of God in Christ Jesus. ~ Philippians 3:14

"Let him turn away from evil and do good; Let him seek peace and pursue it."
~ 1st Peter 3:11

It is more than a desire or a goal, it's not seeking, but actively pursuing.

... everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, ... ~ Matthew 7:7-8

... that the man of God may be complete, ... ~ 2nd Timothy 3:16-17

Christianity is about taking action to improve.

Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace ...
~ 2nd Timothy 2:22

      ● PURSUE RIGHTEOUSNESS

... with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, ...
~ Ephesians 6:14

"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
For they shall be filled." ~ Matthew 5:6

"Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, ..."
~ Matthew 5:10

... unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes ...
~ Matthew 5:20

... do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. ...
~ Matthew 6:1

"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, ..." ~ Matthew 6:33

We should not pursue salvation based on our many good works.
Don’t seek to be saved by your works, but seek not to have
a great need for grace and in this perfection is accomplished.

... we also should walk in newness of life. ~ Romans 6:1-4

... through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; ...
~ Philippians 3:9

Disciplined in our desire for continual correction toward clarity;
Pursuit of the truth a way of life.

Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge, But he who hates correction
is stupid. ~ Proverbs 12:1

... chastening ... afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness
to those who have been trained by it. ~ Hebrews 12:11

... whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.

● PURSUE GODLINESS     

... having a form of godliness but denying its power. ... ~ 2nd Timothy 3:1-5

... for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith ...

... godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that
now is and of that which is to come. ~ 1st Timothy 4:7-8

... His divine power has given to us all things that pertain
to life and godliness, ... ~ 2nd Peter 1:3

... what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, ...
~ 2nd Peter 3:11-12

... prayers, ... that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness

● PURSUE FAITH                

And now abide faith, ... ~ 1st Corinthians 13:13

... faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. ~ Romans 10:17

"... will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?" ~ Matthew 6:30

Faith does not quetion the power of God.

... "Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?" ... ~ Matthew 8:25-26

But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, ... ~ James 1:6-8

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on
your own understanding; ... ~ Proverbs 3:5

For we walk by faith, not by sight. ~ 2nd Corinthians 5:7

... he walked on the water to go to Jesus. ... ~ Matthew 14:29-30

● PURSUE LOVE                 

Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, ... ~ 1st Corinthians 14:1

                                                                      Pursue Love more than all. <─┐
But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way.
~ 1st Corinthians 12:31

Do not love the world or the things in the world. ... ~ 1st John 2:15

Every command of God is important but don’t forget to love God,
~ being bound up in sound doctrine.

... and pass by justice and the love of God. ... ~ Luke 11:42

Love is not so meticulous but out of the whole heart love is done.

... let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.
~ 1st John 3:18

"... all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."
~ John 13:35

... but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.
~ Philippians 2:2-3

"... love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those
who hate you, and pray ..." ~ Matthew 5:44

"... My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. ..."
~ John 15:12-13

... this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God
must love his brother also. ~ 1st John 4:20-21

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we
were still sinners, Christ died for us. ~ Romans 5:8

He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. ~ 1st John 4:8

Many do not understand true love.
We don’t always get along and surly love not.
~ Love is unmerited self sacrificing.
God is never against us but always for us, exemplified in Christ.
No matter how hard life becomes do not perceive God as forsaking us.

But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.
~ Colossians 3:14

● PURSUE PATIENCE       

... to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, ... ~ 2nd Peter 1:6

We must pursue perseverance for it is only worth it if we don’t quit.

... you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will
of God, you may receive the promise: ... ~ Hebrews 10:32-36

... let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto
Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, ... ~ Hebrews 12:1-2

"... heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit
with patience." ~ Luke 8:15

... tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; ...
~ Romans 5:3-4

We must endure through the distractions of this world, money and flesh.
The reward is our hope.

... imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
~ Hebrews 6:11-12

● PURSUE GENTLENESS

... speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility
to all men. ~ Titus 3:1-2

Power under control; Meekness = Gentleness

... Shall I come to you with a rod, or in love and a spirit of gentleness?
~ 1st Corinthians 4:21

... gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. ~ Galatians 5:23

Thinking about others is what we are called to do.

... you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, ...
~ Galatians 6:1

... receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able
to save your souls. ~ James 1:21

We need to pursue humbleness.

Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.
~ Philippians 4:5

... Your gentleness has made me great. ~ Psalm 18:35

Do you pursue the desires of God?
