... Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil. ...
~ 1^st Thessalonians 5:1-28

Thessalonica was a city in Greece.
The message was that the Lord hasn't come back, but keep it going.

... we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, ...
~ Titus 2:11-14

Jesus is coming back ... How?

... Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? ...
~ James 4:4

Nearness to God = Close to God
Nearness to world = Distance from God

... "God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble." ... ~ James 4:5-10

Distance from God = Darkness

Ask, if I do this, does it bring me closer to God?

Trust more in God than ourselves.

More blessed to give than to receive.

Hope is not based on what you see.

Many churches gauge there success in numbers.

Success lays in the individual.

People were lazy in Thessalonica.
Paul wanted them to "Wake Up!"

Rejoice in Christ.

Complainers = Jesus is not coming back
Thankful = Jesus is coming back

Don't quit because you need to be ready today.
If He dosen't come back today, we have not wasted our time.

CHRIST is a way of Life.
