10/26/2008 ~ God is in Control


... He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and
raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise ... ~ Daniel 2:20-23


GOD can do what He wants to.

1. BABALONIAN
2. MEDO-PERSIAN
3. GREECIAN
4. ROMAN - GOD'S KINGDOM ESTABLISHED

... the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed;
and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces
and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever. ~ Daniel 2:44-45


God has established His Kingdom on Earth.

... she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him
in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, ... ~ Luke 2:4-7


Jesus Christ has come to show us God’s will.

... "Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's,
and to God the things that are God's." ... ~ Matthew 22:17-22


Clearly, God and governments of men can exist simultaneously.

Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities.
For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities
that exist are appointed by God. ... ~ Romans 13:1-7


... the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance
of the saints in the light. ... ~ Colossians 1:12-13


None are exempt from His life given locally.

For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. ... ~ Romans 13:3

"... till he knew that the Most High God rules in the kingdom of men,
and appoints over it whomever He chooses." ~ Daniel 5:21


One can not challenge God.
It is God that ordains the governments of man.


... thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we
may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness ... ~ 1st Timothy 2:1-2


We may fail as the world’s most dominant power.

And believers were increasingly added to the Lord,
multitudes of both men and women, ... ~ Acts 5:14-15


Then the word of God spread, and the number of
the disciples multiplied greatly ... ~ Acts 6:7


In times of persecution, these are the times
~ of greatest strides forward in Christianity.  


... we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief. ~ Hebrews 3:7-19

God allows people to be tried so that they may turn to Him.

But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he became angry. ...
~ Jonah 4:1-2


~ One can not flee from God.

"... for You, O LORD, have done as it pleased You." ~ Jonah 1:14
                     God is in control. <─┘

Jonah knew God was in control regardless of his emotional state.


"The men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with this generation
and condemn it, because they repented ..." ~ Matthew 12:41


  Don’t Comply = Against God
  Don’t Comply = Still Goes God’s Way  

... For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance
will arise for the Jews from another place, ... ~ Esther 4:13-14


His will will be done.

Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.
~ James 4:17


It is sinful to walk away from doing good.
Be mindful of others and show mercy.

- widows
- elderly
- orphans
- handicapped

It is not God’s way for us to isolate ourselves away from the needy.

"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,
and all these things shall be added to you." ~ Matthew 6:33


If we work for God, we invest in the eternal.

"Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, In the day of trial
in the wilderness, Where your fathers tested Me, ..." ~ Hebrews 3:8-9


The Israelites failed because they did not believe God.
We need to be active participants in what He has called us to.


 Abilities = Respond = Responsibility = Calling 

But let these also first be tested; then let them serve as deacons,
being found blameless. ... ~ 1st Timothy 3:10-11


Consider His ways and be wise.
Do not wait for God to do it for you.


... labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have
something to give him who has need. ~ Ephesians 4:28


Hiding will only reward one with nothing.

"Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things
you have need of before you ask Him." ~ Matthew 6:8


Do you fail to see that is all in you, and not of or because of others?
This is knowing self and responsibility to God.


"This day the Lord your God commands you to observe these statutes
and judgments; therefore you shall be careful to observe them with
all your heart and with all your soul. ..." ~ Deuteronomy 26:16-17


Now "If the righteous one is scarcely saved,
Where will the ungodly and sinner appear?" ~ 1st Peter 4:18


Thank God if you can obtain salvation by the edge of your fingernails;
claw, climb, whatever you can, for life eternal waits for those faithful.
Assuredly, confidence builds as one delves into scripture.


... if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God.
~ 1st John 3:21


He wants to know our faith.
Pray if it all depends on you, be faithful; righteous to Him.
As a babe suckling on the roof of heaven, glory is from Him.


No escape when reckoning comes due,  
ALL WILL SHAMEFULLY KNEEL BEFORE HIM.
