6/1/2008 ~ Committing to Christ


A commitment to faithfulness.

"... pierce his ear with an awl; and he shall serve him forever. ..."
~ Exodus 21:6

Do you have the Love of a servant to serve forever?

"... whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple."
~ Luke 14:25-33

Life long choices have to be made.
Being a Christian is a commitment for life.
Christ needs to be first forever.
Submitting to His will and commands.
Will you pay the cost?

... present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God,
which is your reasonable service. ~ Romans 12:1

... 'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart,
with all your soul, and with all your mind.' ... ~ Matthew 22:37

Jesus expects us to come to Him with our all.
We must put Him before any of our desires.

... they forsook all and followed Him. ~ Luke 5:11

Either He is all or nothing at all.

... "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself,
and take up his cross, and follow Me." ~ Matthew 16:24

One has to have a commitment to learn.

"... teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; ..."
~ Matthew 28:18-20

1. Commitment to a personal relationship.
2. Commitment to Family of God, His church.
3. Commitment to the lost outside His church.

For the word of God is living and powerful,
and sharper than any two-edged sword, ... ~ Hebrews 4:12

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not
need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. ~ 2nd Timothy 2:15

... received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily ...
~ Acts 17:11

... pray without ceasing, ... ~ 1st Thessalonians 5:17

... supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks
be made for all men, ... ~ 1st Timothy 2:1-2

... present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God,
which is your reasonable service. ~ Romans 12:1

As a living sacrifice to God, praying and searching out
the depths of His word.

See that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise,
redeeming the time, because the days are evil. ~ Ephesians 5:15-16

Your Time.

... things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just,
whatever things are pure, ... - meditate on these things. ~ Philippians 4:8

Your Thoughts.

... 'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart,
with all your soul, and with all your mind.' ... ~ Matthew 22:37

Your Love.

One's time expresses your commitment.
- Commitment to God’s church.

... Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.
~ 1st Corinthians 12:12-27

... consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not
forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, ... ~ Hebrews 10:23-25

One must seek out fellow Christians.

... does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides
in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. ~ 2nd John 1:9

"... 'This people honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me.
And in vain they worship Me, ...' " ~ Mark 7:6-7

"... for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost."
~ Luke 19:10

Our goal should be to share Christ with others.

... need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God;
... ~ Hebrews 5:12-14

We must rise to the occasion of our calling.

... If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers,
let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things
God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, ... ~ 1st Peter 4:10-11

Commitment to the lost, the cause of Christ.

... you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink
but by the Spirit of the living God, ... ~ 2nd Corinthians 3:2-3

"... that they should repent, turn to God, and do works befitting repentance."
~ Acts 26:20

Being a Christian will mean hard work and sacrifice.

Do you Love Christ enough to Love Him for Life?
